Designer Series Enhancer™ is a premium semi-transparent concrete stain used to restore and revitalize concrete and other porous surfaces. The water-based polymer-modified formula has maximum color pigments for increased color "punch" and intensity when compared to the traditional Translucent Color Enhancer (above). DS Enhancers may be used over Solid Color Stains and smooth concrete surfaces for faux finishing and replicating the look of marble or an acid stain finish. MUST BE SEALED.

Available in all 80 standard colors. Install with a brush, buffer or an HVLP sprayer with a light mist depending on intended effect. Available in a 3 part kit.

  • Large (16 oz.) kit covers approx. 300-600 sq ft (28-56 sq meters)*
  • Small (4 oz.) kit covers approx. 75-150 sq ft (7-14 sq meters)*

Translucent Color Enhancer™ is a premium grade and translucent (non-solid) concrete color stain designed to be used over the Solid Color Stain in a contrasting color. The Translucent Color Enhancer is NOT a paint. It is a polymer-modified, water-based, non-reactive, non-acrylic, penetrating and breathable concrete color stain. It is used to tint or enhance areas of relief, texture or stamped concrete surfaces to create an antiqued look. It is also used to create a faux finish by blending and layering multiple Translucent Color Enhancer colors. MUST BE SEALED.

Available in all 80 standard colors. Comes in a unique 3-part kit. For additional images of the Transparent Color Enhancer, visit the Photo Gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to seal the Enhancers?
A: Yes.

Q: What's the difference between the Translucent Color Enhancer and the Designer Series Enhancer?
A: You mean other than the name?...The biggest difference is that the Designer Series Enhancers are more intense or "darker" in color than the Translucent Color Enhancers. The Designer Series Ehancers have more concentrated pigment. While the formulas for each are different, if you were to add a Color Additive Booster to a Translucent Color Enhancer then you would essentially create a Designer Series Enhancer.

Q: How do I apply the Enhancers?
A: With virtually any tool you want. It just depends on the desired effect. Typically, an HPLV sprayer is used to duplicate the effects of acid stain or marble. You can also use the NewLook Applicator Brush to antique stamped concrete.

Q: How do I create a faux finish with the Enhancers?
A: Faux finishing is a skill that is developed with practice. Fortunately, NewLook's non-reactive stains give you greater color control, which allows you to duplicate the effects of acid stain, marble or any other design. For best results use an HVLP or airless sprayer to mist on the Enhancers. Download our video tutorials for more information.

Q: Are NewLook's Concrete Color Stains permanent?
A: Nothing you put on concrete is permanent. Sealers, micro-toppings, stains--they all need to be maintained. Even concrete itself breaks down over time and needs to be cleaned, revitalized or even replaced. After all, you wouldn't buy a brand new car and never wash it, right? Likewise, concrete surfaces must also be maintained because they take such a beating. NewLook's stains are incredibly valuable because they are an integral part of a comprehensive system of concrete maintenance solutions that allow you to easily and conveniently maintain the image of your concrete. However, sealing NewLook stains with the Concrete Maintenance Sealer or Co-Lock Sealer will indeed increase the longevity of the stain.
